Heart of love
In June of 2013, the team organised an initiative that could reach out to more youths and as well as to offer encouragement to the children.
Childhood cancer patients often face large amounts of emotional distress during their fight against cancer. This emotional stress could be due to boredom from staying in the hospital for long periods of time and also the uncertainty of their future. This could cause them to lose hope and give up fighting cancer. As such, our project would like to aid these children through the walk to recovery.
We made a big heart made of jigsaw pieces of cardboard. Each piece was filled with words of love and encouragement, symbolising how a little piece of love placed together can create something beautiful. We gathered over 50 volunteers from our school to write notes of encouragement to the children, and together we created this beautiful heart.

Childhood Cancer foundation
After creating the heart, we worked together with Childhood Cancer Foundation and asked if they would be willing to bring this heart to the children at CCF. They were more than willing to take in the heart, and today this heart is hung up on the wall at CCF.
